Assessing
 |
The assessment feature provides a thorough, grade level student assessment,
usually completed by the student in under 30 minutes. Not only does the assessment
identify your student’s current ability level in that skill, but it clearly
identifies with a star any critical concepts that are not yet fully mastered,
and easily guides your student to the specific activities to master those concepts.
By regularly taking tests and completing the marked activities, the student will fully master
the concepts and quickly increase test scores.
|
Classes and Students
 |
As a teacher you can enter as many classes as you need, each containing a list of specific students.
You can easily view each student’s latest test scores, current assignments and percent completed,
as well as their current progress on mastering skills from the latest assessment results.
|
Student Details
 |
You can pull up specific information on each student including assignments made, recent test scores,
and progress on repairing test scores. If a student is behind grade level, you can place him or her
in an earlier grade until the student has caught up to grade level.
|
Skills
 |
As a teacher, you have full access to every math skill in the system. The skills section allows students
access to all activities in that skill- great for reinforcing mastered skills or advancing beyond others
in the class at their own pace. For students that are behind grade level, you can easily access skills
and activities from earlier grades. If you are teaching your students advanced material from a later grade,
you can easily access those activities as well.
|
Assign By Skill
 |
By looking more deeply into a skill, you can see that it is broken up into Modules and Activities.
You can assign Activities to an entire class, or to individual students within a class.
You may monitor student progress within Rockin' Math as students complete these activities.
|
Instructive Hint Feature
 |
Each of the hundreds of Rockin’ Math activities includes a ‘Hint’ button which your student can click
when they feel unsure or don’t know how to complete the current activity. This hint button assists
teachers by directly providing the student with additional information, reminders, and modeling how to
accurately answer the current question. There are built in features to insure that the child is learning
from the hint button, not relying on it to complete the activity.
|
On-Line Learning
 |
Because Rockin’ Math is accessed on through the internet, you and your students can have full access from
any computer with an internet connection. Activities and assignments begun at school can easily be finished
at home, including parents in their child's learning!
|
Try Out Activities
 |
Before assigning an Activity, with a simple click of the mouse you can test run it to see exactly how it
works and whether it is appropriate for your students' abilities.
|
State Curriculums
 |
In the Curriculum Section, each state’s core requirements and corresponding activities are clearly displayed
for clarification, easy assigning, and clear data on mastery of these requirements. There's also a general
curriculum for other countries and states which do not have a curriculum entered yet. You may assign activities
based directly off of the curriculum for your state and grade, or as described above, you may assign activities
based upon skills.
